Hello! The IRES team wish you and yours the most fun-filled, memorable and a safe 4th of July!!  There are so many reasons why this holiday isn’t just about grilling, fireworks, and beverages.  This holiday is about our country’s birthday. 1776!!  In addition, celebrating this holiday it is a way to show our appreciation and to celebrate our veterans, fire-fighters, police officers, active duty men and women.  These brave men and women should be celebrated, thanked, and of course, respected for defending our freedom, and our country.

Now…  Moving on to fireworks safety tips….

Moving on to the grilling safety tips….

Grilling Safety Tips

  • Be sure to supervise the grill while in use.  Make sure that children and pets are not near the grill.
  • Use long-handled tools. Assuming you’re grilling veggies along with different meat, please keep your grilling tools separated to avoid cross contamination.
  • Don’t add fuel to the fire.  Meaning, if the coals are hot, do not add starter fluid to the BBQ pit!!
  • Also make sure that your grill isn’t near or under a tree.
  • Make sure the chef du jour has a sous chef to provide him or her with plenty of water.  It’s going to be hot one this year.  Be safe, and stay hydrated.  And don’t forget the sunscreen!!
